Harold E. “Bud” Sheldahl

Blue Earth — Harold E. “Bud” Sheldahl, age 84, of Blue Earth, died April 28, 2011, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Care Center.

Memorial Services were held May 4, 2011, at Elmore United Methodist Church, in Elmore. The Rev. Arthur Keith officiated. Burial was in Riverview Cemetery, Elmore.

Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service assisted the family with the arrangements.

Bud was born March 27, 1927, at Elmore Township, the son of Elmer and Lydia (Schaumburg) Sheldahl. Bud grew up in the Elmore, Stevens and Lakota, Iowa areas where he attended country schools. He was baptized and confirmed at the E&R Church in Ledyard, Iowa, and was currently a member of the Elmore United Methodist Church. He was married to Shirley Kephart on June 6, 1959, in Kiester. Bud worked construction for many years and later worked at the Elmore brush site for several years. Bud was a compassionate, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He always asked how you were doing when you called or visited and he always had a smile for you. He took great interest in the farming community and enjoyed fishing, watching the Twins play and enjoyed the music on Bandwagon.

Harold E. Sheldahl is survived by his wife, Shirley Sheldahl, of Blue Earth; daughters, Sherry (Jerry) Asmus, of Wells, and Barbara (Roger) Schroeder, of Swea City, Iowa; son, Cory (Rachel) Sheldahl, of Bricelyn; sister-in-law, Ruth Sheldahl, of Lakota; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Edward; sister, Alma Schultz and her husband Ronald; brother-in-law, Kenton Kephart; nephew, Duane Sheldahl; niece, Shirley Owen; and mother and father-in-law, Ruth and Clayton Kephart.
