James J. Leach, 65
Alamogordo, N.M. — Interment Service for James J. Leach will take place on Saturday, May 28, 2011, at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Stencil officiating at Calvary Cemetery, in Blue Earth, with full military honors.
Jim passed away Nov. 23, 2010, at home in Alamorogordo, N.M., following a brief illness.
Jim is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sheryl (Spore) Leach, originally from Winnebago; son, Jay (Elise), of Centennial, Colo.; and daughter Jackie (Mike) Alvarez, of Vacaville, Calif.; and five grandchildren.
Jim attended school in Blue Earth graduating with the class of 1963. He entered the United States Air Force in December 1963. He is a Vietnam Veteran and retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Master Sergeant after 21 years of service. He then worked for military contractors until the time of his death.
Jim was avid about physical fitness. He ran daily, played golf, worked out at the gym, rode his bicycle and had recently taken up motorcycle riding. He and Sheryl traveled extensively throughout New Mexico and the surrounding area.
Following services, family and friends are invited to a reception held in the home of Marvin and Linda Heidecker, in Lakota, Iowa, to share memories and stories of their remembrances of Jim.
