Joanne Belau

Garden Valley, Idaho — Joanne was born to her parents Frederick and Marie (Schobert) Ludtke on Oct. 12, 1933, in Maywood, Ill. Joanne began her walk with the Lord on her baptism day, Aug. 21, 1934, in Freeport, Ill. She was confirmed March 30, 1947, in Blue Earth.

Joanne was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Roger Belau, Oct. 25, 1953, in Blue Earth. The Lord blessed this marriage of 57 plus years with much love, devotion and happiness.

Joanne enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, fishing, sewing, knitting, crocheting, cooking, baking, playing games and reading. Most of all she loved her husband, family and her many dear friends.

Survivors include her husband, Roger, of Garden Valley, Idaho; four children, Kurt (Teresa), of Idaho City, Idaho, Kathy of Becker, Karin (Jeff), of Rushford, and Keith (JoAnn), of Rush City; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her two sisters, Janet (Donald), of Sun Lakes, Ariz., and Nylene (Alvin), of Burnsville.

May all those who mourn in this death be comforted by the hope of the resurrection to eternal life. Our Lord Jesus promised, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes will never die.” John 11: 25-26

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, in Blue Earth.
