Doris Kleindl, 81
Elmore — Doris Kleindl, of Elmore, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2011, in Blue Earth, at the age of 81.
She was born on April 7, 1930, in Lakota, Iowa, the daughter of T.R. and Mary Estle. She graduated from Ledyard High School in 1947. In September of 1950, she married LuVerne Thompson who preceded her in death in 1968. From this union came two children and the nurturing of five foster children. In April of 1971, she married Bernard Kleindl, he had three daughters. Doris worked at many different secretarial jobs with her favorite being with the DNR in Cass Lake. She did upholstery and seamstress work and also obtained her realtor’s license in 1980 at the age of 50. She was a 60-year member of the Elmore United Methodist Church where she served on many committees. Doris volunteered with Meals on Wheels, was an election judge and was also involved in many community events, her favorite being the melodramas. Doris loved to visit with friends and family, through the years she enjoyed cooking, playing cards, bowling, dancing and gardening.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. today, Monday, July 18, 2011 at Elmore United Methodist Church, in Elmore. The Rev. Art Keith is officiating. Visitation is one hour before the service at the church. A private interment will be held at Elmore Riverview Cemetery.
Doris is survived by her daughters, JoEllen (Brian) Boettcher, and Connie Jasik, of Rochester; step-daughters, Monica Hicks, Susan (Jim) Pecarina, and Marsha (Dale) Johnston; 11 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Also surviving are one sister, Velda (Harlan) Logemann; brother-in-law, Leon McCoy; sister-in-law, Rosabelle McQuarie; and many nieces, nephews and countless friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; six sisters; four brothers; and her husbands.
