Lois Osland, 76
Winnebago – Lois Osland, age 76, of Winnebago, formerly a resident of Blue Earth, passed away on Aug. 14, 2011, after a lengthy illness. Lois was born in Omaha, Neb., to Philip Kellner and Agnes Patera Kellner on Oct. 17, 1934. She completed school in Omaha, graduating from South High and continuing on to advanced secretarial school. In 1955, she married Olin Osland. To this union were born four children: Diane, Susan, Tammy and Rick. During her working years she was a nursing assistant and later a physical therapy coordinator.
She enjoyed raising her family, especially her grandchildren, was a true Elvis fan and collected memorabilia; she loved her four-legged friends especially her dog, Ozzy; in retirement she enjoyed traveling.
The love of her life preceded her in death – Olin passed away in 1995. She is also preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Agnes, Cecelia and Phyllis.
She is survived by daughters, Diane Osland, of Northwind, Iowa, Susan (Mike) Mensing, of Blue Earth, Tammy (Lee) Mecikalski; and son, Rick Osland (fiancé Lori), of Frost. Grandchildren, Beau Karge (Jen), Cale Karge, Cassandra Johnson, Carissa Bell, Carmen Wood, Philip Olson, Conrad Osland and Preston Osland. Great-grandchildren, Joe Jr., Jack, Kennedy, Ellie, Stuart, Kenton and Olin.
She is also survived by her sisters, Ethel (Dwain) Roos and Pearl Dasovic.
Services will be held today, Monday, Aug. 22, 2011, at 12 noon at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, Omaha, Nebraska.
