Dianne was born Aug. 27, 1942, in Milan to Henry and Katherine (Wanke) Angrimson. She attended school in Montevideo until her family moved to Mankato in 1956. Dianne graduated from Mankato High School in 1961. She then worked at Automatic Electric in Mankato for two years. On July 10, 1961, she married Roger Cory and resided in rural Delavan where they farmed. Roger passed away May 14, 2008. She then moved to Mankato became a member of the Summit Stompers Line Dancing and volunteered at KMSU radio. She met Armond Olson and they were married on Nov. 20, 2010.
Dianne enjoyed canning, baking and camping, but her greatest passion was 50s and Rockabilly music. Her passion started as a teen at the Kato Ballroom, where she saw singers such as Buddy Holly. Some of her pictures taken at the Kato before the tragic plane crash with Buddy Holly, Big Bopper and Ritchie Valens have become internationally known. She has gone to the anniversary dance parties in Clear Lake, Iowa, and the Rockfests in Green Bay, Wis., yearly for the past 24 years. Through her music, she has met many interesting people and had unique opportunities such as being invited to Buddy Holly’s niece’s house and having dinner with the family including Buddy’s brothers. Through all her music travel, she gained many wonderful friends. Some of her other memorable trips were going camping in the Boundary Waters, going to Australia to see her grade school pen pal in 1996, The Buddy Holly Birthday Celebration in Lubbock, Texas, going to Graceland and visiting the Sun Record Company where many of the rockabilly artists started their careers. Her latest travel adventure was traveling with Armond along Route 66.
She is survived by her husband, Armond; son, Todd (Jeanette) Cory, of Delavan; grandchildren, Samuel, Brandalyn, Calahan, Stephanie and Melinda; stepson, Greg Olson, of Mankato; stepgranddaughter, Crystal; sister at heart, Nancy (Bill) Anderson, of Mankato; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roger Cory; and an infant daughter, Shelley.
