Anola G. Hove, 92

Blue Earth A Celebration of Life service for Anola Grace Larsen Hove was held April 5, 2012, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Care Center Chapel, Blue Earth. Burial took place in Riverview Cemetery in Elmore. Rev. Arne Halbakken and Rev. Karl Rydholm officiated the service. Anola passed away on Monday,?April 2, 2012, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Care Center. Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Bricelyn was in charge of arrangements.

Anola was the oldest of three children born to Ella (Ihle) and Lewis Wallen on Feb. 22, 1920, in Des Moines, Iowa, and baptized at Bergen (Salem) Lutheran Church, Roland, Iowa. At the age of 6 her family moved to the Elmore and Bricelyn areas. She attended schools in these communities and was confirmed at Bricelyn Lutheran Church. She married Robert Larsen on Dec. 22, 1940, at her parents’ home in Elmore. Following Bob’s service in the Marines and living in San Diego, Calif., for two years, they returned to Elmore where Anola was a homemaker caring for their three children: Craig, Bradley and Christine. She was a member of Shiloh Lutheran and was active in the women’s organization and also taught Sunday school. Following Bob’s death in 1962, she worked at the Elmore School for a short time before working for 20+ years at St. Luke’s Lutheran Care Center in Blue Earth. She also sold Avon.

On Aug. 9, 1975, she married Orville Hove and they lived on the Hove farm until 1978 when Orville retired and they moved into Bricelyn. Anola and Orville were members of South Blue Earth Lutheran Church and Anola was active in the?WELCA. They were also members of the Bricelyn Senior Citizens. Anola enjoyed ceramics, hand stitching, playing cards, board games and visits from family.

In 1999, Anola and Orville moved to Southview Estates and she has resided in the St. Luke’s campus until her death. She was a kind, caring and giving person with a strong faith and positive attitude towards life. Her memory will be cherished!

Anola is survived by two sons, Craig (Kathy) Larsen, of Minneapolis, and Bradley Larsen, of St. Louis Park; one daughter, Christine Larsen (Douglas Golenbock), of Wellesley, Mass.; six grandchildren, Stacey Larsen (special friend, Matt Ready), of Port Townsend, Wash., Nikki Earhart, of St. Louis Park, Robert Larsen (fianc, Kristin), of Spirit Lake, Iowa, Lindsey Larsen (fianc, Ben Marthaler), of Rutledge, Justin Golenbock, of New York City, NY, and Sam Golenbock, of Washington, D.C.; one great-granddaughter, Aubrey Earhart. Also surviving are three stepdaughters, Carol (Duane) Dahl, of Bricelyn, Cynthia (Ken) Hill, of New Brighton, and Sue Hove, of Rochester; nine step-grandchildren; 16 step-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. She is also survived by many in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands,?Bob Larsen in 1962, and Orville Hove in 2002; infant daughter, Gloria Jean, in 1942; her sister, Irene (Romaine) Enterline; and brother, Lester (Fern) Wallen. Bless be her memory!
