Blue Earth Helen Mary Eide, age 97, of Blue Earth, died Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Care Center.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, Sept. 17, 2012, at 1 p.m., at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Blue Earth, with Rev. Wesley Hafner officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Blue Earth. Visitation time was from 5-7 p.m. on Sept. 16 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Blue Earth, and one hour prior to the service at the church.

She was born May 2, 1915, at Canistota, S.D., the daughter of Edward and Mary (Labien) Kostboth. She graduated from Canistota High School and earned a Teaching Certificate from Brookings State College. She married Ole E. Eide Oct. 6, 1940, at Canistota. She taught school in South Dakota, owned and operated a Dairy Queen and Dairy Freeze for many years with her husband.

She was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, various bridge clubs; she loved crocheting, baking, cooking, reading, playing golf, watching the Vikings and the Twins.

She is survived by her daughters, Gwen Bruns, of Maple Grove, and Carol Lerfald, of Maple Grove; sister, Eileen Rabon, of Miami, Fla.; sister-in-law, Lila Kostboth, of Canistota; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ole, in 1999; parents, two brothers; sister; and son-in-law, Robert.
