John C. Hensley, 73

Spirit Lake, Iowa John C. Hensley, age 73, of Spirit Lake, died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake.

Funeral services were held Oct. 29, 2012, at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Blue Earth. The Rev. Reid Ellis officiated. Burial was in Riverview Cemetery, Elmore.

John was born Dec. 20, 1938, in Calvin, Ky., the son of Gilbert and Betsy (Hensley) Hensley.

John is survived by his wife, Amaryllis “Amy” Hensley of Spirit Lake; his son, John Hensley of Rochelle, Ill., Ronald (Tami)Hensley of Roscoe, Ill.; his step-daughter, Teresa Newville of Northrup; step-son, Joseph (Sandy) Newville of Welcome; his brother, Clyde (Lillie) Hensley and Arnold (Ella Mae) Hensley both of Rosehill, VA.; his sister, Goldie Miracle of Piggott, Ark., Elzora Dillis of Maryville, TN; four grandchildren; ten step-grandchildren; one great-grandson; twenty step-great-grandchildren and two step-great-great-grandchildren.
