Mary Fellows, 69

Alta, Iowa Mary Fellows, age 69, of Alta, Iowa died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa.

Funeral services were held Oct. 27, 2012, at Grace Lutheran Church in Storm Lake, Iowa. Burial was in the Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery in Storm Lake. Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake was in charge of arrangements.

She was born Nov. 5, 1942, in Alta, the daughter of Albert and Hazel (Johnson) Otto. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in rural Hanover, Iowa. During her early education, Mary attended St. John Parochial School in Hanover through the eighth grade. In 1960, she graduated from Alta High School.

On Dec. 19, 1964, Mary was united in marriage to Larry Fellows at St. John Lutheran Church in Hanover. They were blessed with two children: James and Diana. Mary loved and cherished her family, especially her grandchildren. She spent many hours creating scrapbooks for them. Additionally, Mary enjoyed computer and technology, as well as her Saturday morning coffee group.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children: James (Dawn) Fellows of Blue Earth; Diana Fellows (special friend, Derek Colvin) of Alta; her grandchildren: Kenadee Fellows; Baby Colvin; Jonathan (Kelly) Hagedorn; Morgen Hagedorn; Tyler Fellows; Natali Fellows; sisters and brothers-in-law; Reverend Herman and Delores Glienke of Miami Springs, Fla. and Harold and Lorraine Hinkeldey of Storm Lake. Extended family and friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Hazel Otto; her husband, Larry on January 12, 2010; her brother-in-law, Clark “Butch” Fellows; her father and mother-in-law Edward and Evelyn Fellows.
