Margaret Larson

Bricelyn Margaret Larson, age 89, of Bricelyn, died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.

Funeral Services were held Jan. 2, 2013, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Rome Township. The Rev. Arne Halbakken officiated and interment was in Bethany Lutheran Cemetery. Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells was in charge of arrangements.

Margaret was born June 16, 1923, in Rome Township, Faribault County, the daughter of John B. and Anna (Johnson) Olson. She was united in marriage to Lloyd O. Larson on March 28, 1948. Margaret worked at the Bricelyn Canning Company in Bricelyn for many years as a bookkeeper. In 1968, she started a second add on career as a caterer. She catered many weddings and events over the years. Once retired she began a third career as a volunteer. Margaret was a longtime member of Bethany Lutheran Church and wrote the Bethany Visitor the newsletter for the church for many years. Margaret made numerous scrapbooks for family and was a gracious hostess she enjoyed having dinner parties for family and friends. Margaret loved her family very much.

Margaret is survived by her daughter, Gloria (Jerry) Becker, of Bricelyn; grandson, Travis Becker, of Bricelyn; granddaughter, Jennifer (Mark) Johnson, of Albert Lea; great-grandsons, Allen and Tyler Johnson, of Albert Lea; brother, Donald (VaLores) Olson, of Bricelyn; sister-in-law, Marian Olson, of Mankato; and many nieces and nephews and their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lloyd, in 2003; two sisters, her twin Marjorie (Norlan) Sorbo and Ruby Rienstra; two brothers, Jeffrey Olson and one brother in infancy.
