Donald “Don” J. Beach, 64
Blue Earth Donald “Don” Joseph Beach, age 64, of Blue Earth, died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at United Hospital.
Memorial Services were held on Feb. 14, 2013, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blue Earth. The Rev. Dr. Mark Wilms officiated.
He was born Feb. 7, 1949, in Rochester, the son of Robert and Alice (Tubbs) Beach. He graduated from Stewartville High School in 1967. On July 31, 1971, in Stewartville, he married Linda L. Staab. In 1971 he graduated from Augsburg College and received his Masters and a Specialist Degree from the University of Wisconsin Superior in 1979. Don worked as a coach, teacher and principal for three different school districts, Hinckley, Grand Meadow/LeRoy/Ostrander, and Blue Earth.
He loved coaching football, basketball, baseball, and traveling extensively in France, Italy, Germany, Scotland, England, and throughout the United States. Don, wife Linda, and son Tom traveled to 31 Major League Baseball Parks.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Beach, of Blue Earth; his daughters, Robyn (Jason) Beach-Olson, of Blue Earth, Becky Beach, of Chicago, Ill., Leah Beach, of Chicago; his son, Thompson (Anne) Beach, of St. Paul; his sister, Mary (Rev. Paul) Bittner, of Fall Creek, Wis.; his brothers, Robert (Jean) Beach, of New Albany, Ohio, and George (Darlene) Beach, of Stewartville; his grandson, Jacob Olson, and his granddaughter, Lily Olson, both of Blue Earth.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Alice.
