Jean A. Stensland

Los Lunas, N.M. Jean Ann Stensland, born Feb. 26, 1929, in Fairmont, passed away March 3, 2013, in Los Lunas, N.M.

Born the daughter of Ray and Louise (Wold) Skagerberg. Graduated from Blue Earth High School in Blue Earth. Married George Stensland June 7, 1947, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blue Earth. They farmed for 19 years in rural Blue Earth. They moved into Blue Earth in 1966, where they resided until 2001, when they moved to Chandler, Ariz. In 2005, she moved to Los Lunas, N.M. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church for 68 years. She was a member of Ladies Aide for 50 years. She taught Sunday?school for five years. She was a member of the Legion Auxiliary for 60 years. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church for four years in Chandler. She was a member of Valley Lutheran Church in Los Lunas for the last seven years.

Jean is survived by her children, Judy Hinrichsen, of Yelm, Wash., Gloria Curtis, of Yelm, and Tom (Priscilla) Stensland, of Los Lunas; seven grandchildren, Michael (Kay), Matt (Kari) and Adam Anderson, Daniel (Lisa) Curtis, Tammy Sadberry, Peggy (David) Schneider and Charles (Marilena) Stensland. She has 12 great-grandchildren; 11 step-great-grandchildren; and one step-great-great-granddaughter.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three son-in-laws; three brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law.

Services are pending at the Valley Lutheran Church and in Blue Earth.
