Marian J. Klinksiek

Ledyard, Iowa Marian Jean Stenzel was born on the family farm north of Lakota, Iowa, on July 19, 1929, to Otto and Pearl (Brocker) Stenzel. She was called home to Jesus April 3, 2013, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Care Center in Blue Earth.

Marian was baptized and confirmed in St. Paul Lutheran Church of Lakota. She attended country school through 8th grade and graduated from Ledyard Community School. Her first job was making doughnuts at a shop in Elmore. She then worked at the Ledyard State Bank. After a six month courtship and six month engagement, she married her sweetheart, Howard Klinksiek, June 11, 1950, in Mankato.

They lived for a time in Des Moines, Iowa, and then moved back to farm with Howard’s dad. They farmed together for over 40 years until retirement. Howard passed away in 2008 and Marian moved to St. Luke’s in 2010.

Marian joined Bethany E & R Church of Ledyard upon her marriage to Howard and was a lifelong member, serving her Lord in many capacities.

Loved ones left behind include her four children: daughter, Cyndy (John Sorensen), of Duluth, Mildi Tesch, of Elmore, Shirley (Wayne) Rankin, of Albert Lea, and Marv (Jenny Gray), of Blue Earth; two cherished grandsons, Andrew Loucks and Samuel Loucks, both of Lakota; brother, Russell (Elaine) Stenzel, of Henderson; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy (Harold) Warner and Marion Brandt, all of Ledyard; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Marian was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Fern and Robert Briggs; sons-in-law, Brad Loucks and Barry Tesch; and in-laws, Ervin and Luetta Klinksiek, Lillian and Ted Thilges, Luella Klinksiek, and Irvin Brandt.

Funeral Services were held Saturday, April 6, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Bethany E & R Church in Ledyard. The Rev. Tim Diehl officiated. Burial was in Highland Home Cemetery, Ledyard.
