Wayne C. Eastvold

Blue Earth Wayne C. Eastvold, age 89, of Blue Earth, died Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Care Center.

A Memorial Service was held May 20, 2013, at Patton Funeral Home in Blue Earth. The Rev. Karl Rydholm officiated. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Winnebago.

Wayne was born Sept. 28, 1923, in Winnebago, the son of Clarence and Maryette (Holloway) Eastvold. He married Edith L. Keyser on Feb. 8, 1948, in Winnebago. He worked for Spencer-Armstrong Funeral Home and started working for the Faribault County Highway Department where he remained for 39 years until his retirement. Together they enjoyed spending time with family, dancing and traveling in their motor-home, and after retirement they spent many winters in the warmer southern states. They were members of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Winnebago. Wayne and Edith lived most of their lives in Winnebago, and moved to Blue Earth in 2002.

He is survived by his sisters, Carrie Eastvold, of Buffalo Center, Iowa; brother, Carlton (Thelma) Eastvold, of Winnebago; children, Paulette (Thomas) Wilhelmi, of Minnesota Lake, Maryetta (Thomas) Hendricks, of Minnetonka; Mark Eastvold, of Winnebago, and Anne (Kevin) Skaare, of Blue Earth; brother-in-law, Dale (Wilma) Keyser, of Aurora, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Maryette; his wife, Edith; sisters, Ida (Ed) Larson and June (Orville) Olson; brothers, Mitchell and Kenneth; son-in-law, Gary (Paulette) Vance; grandson, Michael Vance; and great-granddaughter, Lillian Ludwig.
