Lynette Marks, 86

Amboy Lynette Marks, of rural Amboy, passed peacefully to her eternal rest, Monday, June 3, 2013, at the Mayo Clinic Health System, Mankato surrounded by her family.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, June 10, 2013, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Amboy with Rev. Rudolph Mauer officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Mankato Mortuary is assisting the family with the arrangements. Burial will be at the Pleasant View Cemetery, rural Amboy at a later date.

Lynette was born July 5, 1926, to Louis and Helen (Ramspott) Heise, in Mankato. She graduated from Minnesota Lake High School at the age of 16. Lynette graduated from Northwest Institute of Medical Technology in Minneapolis and worked at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, as a Medical Technician. Lynette was united in marriage to Eldon Marks on Dec. 6, 1947, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Easton. They made their home for 65 years on a farm west of Amboy. In 1980, Lynette graduated from Mankato Vocational School. She worked at Immanuel St. Joseph Hospital as a nurse for 15 years. She loved her nursing career and she made many wonderful friends. She was also active as a 4-H leader and as a member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Ladies Guild. Lynette enjoyed traveling, sewing, flower gardening, cooking, and baking. Lynette’s grandchildren were the joy of her life, and she loved baking cookies for them.

Lynette is survived by her beloved husband, Eldon; children, Bill (Melissa), of Mankato, Brad (Rita), of Owatonna, Barb (nee Marks) Fleming, of Mankato, and Ben (Brenda), of Minnetonka; grandchildren, Matt (Sarah) Marks, Bethany (Aaron) Schenck, Luke Marks, Adam Marks, Marcus Fleming, Trenton Marks, Krista Fleming, Rachel Marks, Amanda Marks, Gavin Marks and Kyla Hass; great-grandchildren, Madeline and Noah Marks; sister, Sharon (nee Heise) Jensen; and brother, Carol Heise.

Memorials preferred to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or American Cancer Society.
