Ingrid A. Willette

Apple Valley Ingrid Arlene Willette, age 4, died unexpectedly on May 27, 2013, at Gillette Childrens Hospital in St. Paul. She is survived by her parents, Kent and Trisha (Melby) Willette and twin brother, Charlie, of Apple Valley.

Her grandparents are Jan and Linda Willette, of Minneapolis, formerly of Blue Earth, and Sandy Melby, of Brooklyn Park; great-grandparents, Don and Arleen Brothers, of Fargo; two uncles, Zac Willette, of Chicago, Ill., and Brock (Amber) Melby, and children, Allysa, Nate, and Avrie, of Dallas, Texas; aunt, Anastasia (Steve), and children, Summer, Tully and Conley; and godparents, Kylah Hynes and John Tran along with children, Hynes and Ella of Washington D.C., also were part of her family.

Ingrid was born 4 months premature on Sept. 17, 2008, at St. Paul Children’s Hospital. She spent 100 days in the NICU before coming home to St. Paul. She loved attending school at Rondo Early Childhood Special Education in St. Paul. She loved bright colors, books and puzzles. She enjoyed her iPad videos of Sesame Street and giving kisses and group hugs.

The visitation was held on June 2, 2013, at Willwerscheid Funeral Home, West St. Paul, after cremation. Memorials such as books were suggested in lieu of flowers. Books donated will be given to hospitals and schools and places she had been a part of. So far over 500 books have been donated. Other memorial suggestions are CaringBridge, Gillette Specialty or Children’s Hospital.
