Elmore Harold H. Hilpipre, age 85, of Elmore, died Sunday, June 30, 2013, in Chamberlain, SD.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 6 at 11:00 a.m. at Elmore United Methodist Church in Elmore, with Rev. Arthur Keith officiating. Burial will be in Riverview cemetery, Elmore. Patton Funeral Home & Cremation service of Blue Earth assisted the family with arrangements.

Harold was born January 4, 1928, In Pilot Grove Township, Minn. the son of Henry and Emma (Moiser) Hilpipre. He was raised in Pilot Grove Township and attended country school and East Chain School. He moved to Elmore in 1948 and was married to Shirley Jean Mino on July 21, 1950 at the United Methodist Church in Blue Earth. In October of that same year he entered the U.S. Army where he served for two years. In December of 1952 Harold and Jean started into the service and bulk oil business, as Harold would jokingly always say “until something better comes along.” Sixty-two years later he was still serving the community. Harold and Jean have been proud to own the operate a business in Elmore, grateful for the friendships, support and memories that those years have given. Harold was a member of the Elmore United Methodist Church and the Elmore American Legion Sanford Post 192. He loved playing solitaire, fishing with his wife, family and friends and spending time at their cabin on Lake Jefferson.

He is survived by his wife Jean of Elmore, his sons Mike (Mavis) of Blue Earth, Steve (Patricia)?and Doug (Deborah) both of Eden Prairie, Rick of Oracle, Ariz. and Brad (Tammy) of Blue Earth, his daughter, Lorie (Kurt) Rame of New Prague, his brothers, Donald of Omaha, Neb. and Ray (Lorraine) of Blue Earth, his sisters, Phyllis (Roy) Rohlin of Okoboji, Iowa, Jo Ann Smith of Minneapolis and Barbara (Lester) Wood of Big Lake, his sisters-in-law, Marge James of Drummond, Mont. and Lucille Gerberding of Blue Earth, 16 grandchildren, 13 great -grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, father and mother-in-law, Roy and Anna Mae Mino, four sisters-in-law and five brothers-in law.
