Ronald F. Bressler Sr., 81
Winnebago Ronald Fred Bressler Sr., age 81, of Winnebago, died Monday, Aug. 5, 2013, at Fairmont Medical Center.
Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Winnebago. The Rev. Peter Schuster officiated. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Mankato.
Ron was born Dec. 30, 1931, in Norwood, the son of Herman and Gertrude (Wolter) Bressler. He attended school in Henderson and entered the U.S. Army on Sept. 9, 1952. He served in the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged on July 21, 1954. Ron was married to Colleen M. Keller on March 30, 1957, in Belle Plaine. He farmed in Henderson until 1971 when he moved to Winnebago. While he farmed in Henderson and later in Winnebago he also worked at the Foundry in LeSueur, Silica Sand in Kasota, Norstar Plastics in Winnebago, Electro Craft in Winnebago and for Patten Roofing in Winnebago.
Ron is survived by his wife, Colleen Bressler, of Winnebago; daughter, Joanne (Kevin) Johnson, of Maple Grove; son, Ronald (Kirsten) Bressler, Jr., of Truman; brother, Herman (Delores) Bressler, of LeSueur; sisters, Lyla Smith, of Henderson, Mavis (Rodger) Grimmelman, of LeSueur, and Glenda Effertz, of Green Isle; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, James John?Bressler; brother, Glenn Bressler; and brothers-in-law, Bob Smith and Jack Effertz.
