George A. Paul, 91
Easton George A. Paul, age 91, died peacefully, Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014 at his home surrounded by family. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, in Easton. Interment was in OLMC Catholic Cemetery-Barber Twp., Faribault County. Father Thomas Niehaus officiated. Military honors were accorded by the Easton American Legion.
George was born April 12, 1923, the son of Raymond and Rose (Schimek) Paul in Delavan. George was a Paratrooper in the United States Army, WWII. After his honorable discharge, George was a dairy farmer. He was united in marriage to Naomi (Murphy) on March 1, 1949 in Blue Earth. George was active in many activities outside of farming including the Easton Creamery Board, Delavan Creamery Board, Delavan School board, and he volunteered 16 years on OLMC Cemetery board. He was a member of OLMC Catholic Church, Trustee Mt. Carmel Parish, and a Knights of Columbus officer. He was a member of the Easton American Legion Post. He had worked for Sonnek Potato farm, and for nine years worked at Espland Van service. He enjoyed square dancing, bowling and will be remembered as a loving husband and father.
George is survived by his wife of 65 years, Naomi Paul, of Easton; children, sons, Keith (Vicki) Paul, of Jacksonville, Fla.; Bill (Jean) Paul, of Blue Earth; Gregg (DeeAnn) Paul, of Austin, Texas; Larry (Marsha) Paul, of Easton; Chuck (Betty) Paul, of Bloomington; Dan (Elisa) Paul, of Salina, Calif.; daughters: Joyce (Don) Krueger, of Rochester, Pat Linehan, of Bloomington, Karen (Rick) Haase, of Easton, Beth (Bert) Fleming, of Garden City, Nancy (Scott) McCune, of Buffalo; 20 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; siblings, Gene (Jane) Paul and Mary Murry, all of Delavan, Evelyn (Merwyn) Hardy and Ron (Marty) Paul, all of the Twin Cities; Carolyn (Jim) Willette of Easton; along with many nieces, nephews and their families.
He is preceded in death by his parents; grandson Heath Madsen; granddaughter’s husband, Scott Taylor; brothers, Donald, Dunnell, Cyril, and Bernie Paul; sister: Margaret Tibodeau; along with many nieces and nephews.
