Virginia L. Evan, 73
Blue Earth Virginia “Ginny” Lee Evan, age 73, passed away Monday, Dec. 15, 2014, at her home. Memorial services were held on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014, the Rev. Russ Jacobsen officiated. Interment will be a later date at Riverside Cemetery, Blue Earth.
She was born April 15, 1941, at Fairmont, the daughter of Lloyd and Cecelia (Ziemer) Wolter. She attended Granada High School. She married George Evan, May 12, 1956, together they lived in the Blue Earth area. After marriage she lived in Blue Earth until 1984 when she moved to Rochester to complete her education at Rochester Community College. After graduation she was a licensed Drug and Alcohol counselor at Zumbro Valley Mental Health Center in Rochester. She worked there for over 20 years before retiring and moving back to Blue Earth to be closer to family.
She enjoyed watching the Minnesota Vikings, going to casinos, taking care of and spoiling her cat “Taz”, and most of all enjoying her family, especially hearing from her grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons, Rick (Cheri) Evan, of Beaver Creek, Ore., Roni Evan, of Blue Earth; daughters, Robin (Jamie) Smith, of Blue Earth, Roxanne (David) Robertson, of Brooksville, Rayne (Randy) Hanevik, of Blue Earth; sister, Marlys (Ken) Breen, of Blue Earth, 10 grandchildren, and 14 great?grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Bev Cramer, grandsons Jamis Smith and Justin Evan, and forever family friend Sue Frette.
