Ilean Y. Dutton, 90
Blue Earth Ilean Yvonne Dutton, age 90, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2014, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Care Center. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Dec. 29, 2014, at 10:30 a.m., at Hope United Methodist Church in Blue Earth, with Rev. Russ Jacobsen officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation time will be from 4-7 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014, at Patton Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 400 E. 14th Street in Blue Earth, and one hour prior to services at the church.
Ilean came forth into this world on May 6, 1924, in Ramona, S.D. Her proud parents were Walter and Ella (Smith) Procknow. Ilean’s passion in life was her family, the upkeep of the family farm and her flower gardens. She began her life in southeastern South Dakota. At the beginning of WW II, Ilean and her best friend Yvonne went to Los Angeles, Calif. to work in the war factories. She met her future husband, Ralph Eugene Dutton there as he completed his military training. They were married on May 7, 1943. They were married nearly 70 years before his death on May 1, 2013. During her life’s journey she was active in 4-H leadership roles, church social circle, enjoyed golfing at Riverside Town and Country Club and was an active partner in their farming and dairying activities. Her flower garden was her pride and joy.
Ralph and Ilean raise three sons, Ron (Nancy) Dutton, veterinarian, of Atlanta, Ga., Roger (LaDonna) Dutton, farmer, of Blue Earth, and Randy (Sin Cha) Dutton, optometrist, of Knoxville, Tenn. She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Casey (Kelly) Powell, of San Diego, Calif., Samantha (James) Oliver, of Lakeville, Brent (Leslie) Dutton, of Charlotte, N.C., Ryan (Arlette) Dutton, of Blue Earth, Lance Dutton, of Atlanta, Ga., Courtney (Brian) Helmstetter, of Lakeville, Amanda Dutton, of Asheville, N.C. and Christopher Dutton, Long Beach, Calif. Ilean is also survived by nine great-grandchildren and two nephews.
Ilean was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ralph in 2013, sisters, Imogene Christianson, Mercedes Davis and a brother, Lester Procknow.
