Milton Rauenhorst, 90

Easton Milton Rauenhorst, age 90, former long-time resident of Easton, was called home Thursday, Dec. 18, 2014 at The Lodges of Lakeville.

Memorial Mass will be held Monday, Jan. 19, 2015 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, in Easton, at 11 a.m. Visitation will be Sunday, January 18, from 2-4 p.m. at the Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells, and will continue one hour prior to the service Monday at the church. Interment will be OLMC Cemetery, and Father Jason Kern will officiate.

Milton was born April 19, 1924, in Easton, the son of Alfred and Helen (Hefner) Rauenhorst in Barber Township, Faribault County. He was proud to graduate from Wells Public High School in 1941. He was united in marriage to Kathryn Grise on Aug. 6, 1955 at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Blue Earth. He was lifelong member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Easton. He was a lifetime dairy farmer on his family farm near Easton. In his retirement he worked as a driver for the Minnesota Department of Human Services, driving patients to their clinic appointments. He also worked for an auto dealership, driving cars from Minneapolis to Wells. Milt also stacked hay for neighbors. He was a member of the Foresters for 75 years and served as a secretary for the organization. He also monitored the weather for a local insurance company.

Milt enjoyed traveling extensively throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe, as well as cruises. He enjoyed playing cards and actively enjoyed his seven grandchildren. He cherished the Easton community and his German heritage.

Milton is survived by his wife of 59 years Kathryn; children Teresa (Gregg) Heckley. of Tampa, Fla., Julie (Jim Harney) Welsh, of Naperville, Ill., Jerry Rauenhorst, of Mankato, Mary Kay (Chris) Coyne, of Apple Valley, and Kim Rauenhorst, of Mankato; grandchildren, Mary and Thomas Welsh V, Tyler Harney, Laura and Nicole Heckley, Katie and Kelly Coyne; sister Betty (Larry) Thisius, of Wells; brother-in-law, Tom Lubitz, of Mapleton, and sister-in-law, Marilyn Rauenhorst, of Minnesota Lake; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Donald (Darlene), Mary Jane (Harvey) Vogel, Melaine (James) Theede, and Margaret Lubitz; son-in-law Thomas Welsh IV; nieces Pamela Lubitz and Karen Thisius; and nephew John Rauenhorst.
