Milford H. Garvick, 81
Wells Memorial services for Milford H. Garvick, age 81, of Wells, formerly of Elmore, were held on Thursday, March 5, 2015, at Patton Funeral Home, Blue Earth. Milford died on Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Parkview Care Center, Wells.
Milford Harold Garvick was born on July 7, 1933 to Lars Swen and Minnie Louise (Schaumburg) Garvick in Bancroft, Iowa. He attended school in Elmore. When he was 17, he signed up for the US Army serving in Germany. When Milford returned home from the service, he began working as a farm hand for various farmers. He continued working as a farm hand until retiring at age 62. Milford loved to fish, trap and hunt. He was an avid dancer and loved to dance with his twin sister. He loved to sing and listen to country music. Milford made lots of time for each of his grandchildren.
Milford is survived by one son, Greg Garvick, of Fairmont; four daughters, Wanda (David) Smith, of Elmore, Sandy (Larry) Feldick, of Two Harbors, Paula Jurgens, of Elmore, Robin (Jim) Hellman, of, Elmore; five grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; two brothers, Henry (Bernice) Garvick, of Kiester, Leonard (Carylin) Garvick, of Steen; four sisters, Norvina DeNieu, of Winnebago, Junice Huston, of Elmore, twin sister, Minnie Michaels, of Elmore and Violet (Bob) Armstrong, of Stockton, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Jesse; one daughter-in-law, Darci; six brothers, George, Marvin, Morris, Richard, Lars, Junior; three sisters, Ida, Anna and Lillian.
