Dennis Louis Rademaker was born on May 16, 1954 in Fairmont, the son of Henry and Anne (Salic) Rademaker. He attended school in Blue Earth and graduated from the Blue Earth High School. He was united in marriage to Rhonda Olson on Jan. 9, 1975 in Algona, Iowa. Their marriage was blessed by Rev. Brown on Feb. 15, 1975 at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Blue Earth. They lived in Blue Earth, Wells, Elmore and then moved to Fairmont.
Dennis worked for Bob Moore’s Farm Drainage, Wells Concrete, drove over the road for Able Acres, M.T. Nawrocki, Baarts Trucking and Kristico. Dennis owned his own truck for two years while still driving for Kristico before becoming disabled. During crop season he enjoyed working in the fields for Claire Schmidt, Duane Sanders, Dale Kosbab, John Benk and Connie Lewis. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed attending auctions, hunting and fishing.
During his truck driving years, he loved to have the family with him exploring the country side. He taught his son, Dennis D. to drive semi at the age of 13. Dennis was so proud of what his grandkids have accomplished. He taught his son and grandson how to hunt and fish and helped the granddaughters plant their Arbor Day trees.
Dennis was known to host a big BBQ bash. He figured, “the more the merrier.” It did not matter if it was family, friends, or the whole neighborhood. He enjoyed the vacations with his brother, Bill and wife Pat, to Mexico and Tennessee and with his brother, Joe, to Arizona to see their sisters, Pat and Sharon. Dennis loved camping at the KOA in Jackson with family and friends.
After becoming disabled, he loved to go out to McDonald’s and have coffee with all the guys. He also enjoyed the pontoon fishing trips through the State Bank of Fairmont.
