Blue Earth Funeral services for Paula M. Ober, age 65, of Blue Earth, formerly of Fort Dodge were on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at noon at the Historic Bruce Funeral Home in Fort Dodge, the Rev. John Hembry officiated.
Paula Marie Ober was born Jan. 1, 1950 in Fort Dodge, Iowa to Edward and Edna (Erickson) Steburg. She grew up in Fort Dodge and attended Fort Dodge Public Schools. She was united in marriage to Duaine Ober on June 8, 1973 in South Dakota. The couple settled in Fort Dodge. Paula worked in housekeeping at Friendship Haven for several years. In 1982 the family moved to Blue Earth, Minnesota. She worked at the St. Luke’s Care Center. After her retirement she did volunteer work at the Blue Earth Senior Day Care Center. Paula’s hobbies included playing computer games, Yahtzee and cards. She also raised three of her grandchildren. Her family was always her number one priority.
On July 21, 2015, Paula died at the United Hospital in Blue Earth. She is survived by her mother, Edna Quillen, of Fort Dodge; husband Duaine, of Blue Earth; her children; Douglas (Pamela) Steburg, of Blue Earth, Lisa Gilley, of Atlanta, Georgia, Chad (Natalie) Ober, of Fort Dodge, Jennifer Ober, of Jackson, and Shaun (Alicia) Ober, of Rochester; thirteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She is also survived by brother Russell (Donna) Steburg, of Fort Dodge; sister Cheri Thompson of Tucson, Ariz., half brother, Dennis (Rose) Quillen and half sister Ruby (Bill) Hinds.
She was preceded in death by her father and step-father, and a sister Pamela.
