Dennis Weringa

Blue Earth Dennis Weringa, age 71, of Blue Earth, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2015 at St Luke’s Lutheran Care Center. Services were Saturday, Sept. 26, at St Luke’s Chapel, the Rev. Brent Walker officiated. Burial was at Immanuel Methodist Cemetery, Blue Earth.

Dennis was born May 18, 1944 to Herman and Madeline (Garrett) Weringa in Lakota, Iowa, where he grew up and graduated from Lakota High School.

Dennis married Beth Johnson in Ledyard, Iowa and eventually moved to Blue Earth. Denny started work at the Blue Earth Farmer’s Elevator, and eventually started his own seed sales business. Together Dennis and Beth raised two children, Deann and Dennis John. Denny enjoyed fishing, pheasant hunting, and coffee with the boys. His happiest moments were with his grandchildren and family.

Dennis is survived by his wife of 51 years, Beth; son, Dennis John Weringa, of Eden Prairie; grandchildren, Joshua and Ellen Weringa; brothers, Craig (Deb) Weringa, Ronald (Deb) Weringa and Larry (Mary) Weringa, with many cousins and extended family.

He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Deann Phillips; brother, Roger Weringa; and sister, Rita Davis.
