Arno was born July 24, 1943 to Elmer and Bessie (Makis) Wiese and grew up in Elmore, graduating from Elmore High School in 1961. After graduation, Arno joined the United States Army, and served in the Vietnam War. On July 19, 1969 Arno married Connie Erdahl at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blue Earth, and together raised their two children. Arno worked with his dad at Wiese’s Paint and TV for many years, and later in life became a US Postal Service letter carrier for Blue Earth until his retirement.
He was active in the local food shelf, NALC (National Association of Letter Carriers), and Trinity Lutheran Church. Arno had a gift for connecting with people, his love for telling stories and listening to oldies music were just a few of his many joys. His greatest passion was his love and care for his family. He will be fondly remembered for the many miles he put on his bike as he rode around town waving and smiling at everyone he came in contact with.
Arno is survived by his wife of 47 years, Connie; children, Gina (James) Robertson, of Rochester and Dustin Wiese, of Inver Grove Heights; grandchildren, Jared and Brandon Rucker, James III, Devrynn, Che’cail, Charlynn and Joshua Robertson; three great-grandchildren; sister, Karen Wiese; brother, Raymer Wiese; with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Roger and Eldean.
