Helen A. Bleess, 99
Blue Earth Helen A. Bleess, age 99, of Blue Earth, passed away Friday, Nov. 13, 2015 at the St. Luke’s Care Center, of Blue Earth.
Funeral Mass was Wednesday, Nov. 18 at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, of Blue Earth. Interment was at the Calvary Cemetery of Blue Earth. Helen was born June 24, 1916 to Clinton and Anna (Seefeldt) Nenaber, in Clark, South Dakota. She graduated in 1935 from Blue Earth High School.
On Oct. 12, 1936 Helen Nenaber married Norbert E. Bleess in Blue Earth, together they raised six children on the family farm west of Blue Earth.
She was a clerk for Breen’s Hardware for nearly 40 years. Helen was active in the CCW, served as a past president for the Catholic Daughters and VFW Ladies Auxiliary. In her retirement years she was a passionate volunteer in the community, especially at St. Luke’s Care Center. In 1998, Helen received the Outstanding Senior Citizen Award for Faribault County.
Helen is survived by her children, David (June) Bleess, of Blue Earth, Douglas (Ardeen) Bleess, of St. Michael, Dale (Karen) Bleess, of Blue Earth and Diane (Greg) Holland, of Blue Earth; 14 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 30 great- grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Rauenhorst, of Wells; with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 56 years, Norbert; daughters, Delores Bleess and Darlene (Donald) Rauenhorst; grandson, John Paul Rauenhorst; and brothers, Bud and Fritz Nenaber.
