Wells Neva LeNore (Smith) Brandenburg Neubauer, age 88, of Wells, died Friday, Jan. 8, 2016 at The Shepherd’s Inn in Wells. A memorial service was held Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2016 at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Wells, the Fr. Andrew Vogel officiated. Interment was at Rosehill Cemetery in Wells.

Neva LeNore was born April 3, 1927 in Dunbar Township, Faribault County, the daughter of George and Maude (Klenk) Smith. She was united in marriage to Walter Brandenburg in 1943, and to this union six children were born, Judy, Barbara, Linda, LaMar, Brenda, and George. After Walter’s death, Neva married Lyle Neubauer in North Mankato. Neva loved to cook, crochet, and cross stitch. She also enjoyed doing crafts and puzzles, and would never pass up a card game.

Neva is survived by her children, Barbara Schulz, of Wells, Linda (Tom) Madigan, of Madison Lake, LaMar (Cindy) Brandenburg, of Wells, Brenda (Ron) Huff, of Dickinson, Texas; and daughter-in-law, Katie Brandenburg, of Anchorage, Alaska; grandchildren: Mike (Jana) Wacholz, Kelly Madigan, Cody (Kristin) Madigan, Jackie Brandenburg (fianc Todd Neubauer), Shiela (Scott) Waskosky, Richard (Cassie) Brandenburg, Lori Jaramillo, Lonnie (Kelley) Huff, and George Brandenburg; step-grandchildren: Jenny (Rod) Bramstad, and Jesi (Kip) Bauldry; 16 great-grandchildren, six step-great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, and one step-great-great-grandchild; sisters-in-law: Shirley Smith, Marvel (Bill) Orbell, Doris Kennard; and several nieces and nephews and their families.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands; children, Judy in infancy and George; granddaughter, Jody Madigan; great-grandson, Dylan Jaramillo; siblings, Bernadine (Mike) Burns, LaMar, Donald, Merrill (Dorothy), Jay (Marjorie) Smith; and sister-in-law Marian Meyer.
