Charlette A. Kretchmer, 87
Easton Charlette Ann Kretchmer, age 87, of Easton, died Friday, March 18, 2016 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato. Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Fr. Andrew Vogel officiated. Interment was at OLMC Catholic Cemetery in Barber Twp., Faribault County.
Charlette Ann was born Dec. 1, 1928 in Minnesota Lake, the daughter of Andrew and Martha (Evan) Stencel. She attended school through the eighth grade. She was united in marriage to Alvin Charles Kretchmer on Jan. 21, 1947 in Minnesota Lake, and to this union four children were born. Charlette was a farm wife, and worked for 25 years at Stampers/Banquet Foods in Wells. She was a member of OLMC Catholic Church in Easton, and Easton American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing bingo, taking trips to the casino, and scratch-offs. She was proud of her yellow car, and loved that everyone could see her coming. Charlette’s family was the most important thing to her, and she loved spending time with them.
She is survived by her four children, Betty (Ken) Wolken, of Jackson, Dr. Bob Kretchmer, of Mound, Nancy (Bob) Kiehm, of Palisade, and Tim (Sharon) Kretchmer, of New Prague; 12 grandchildren, Kim (Kevin) Sommerland, Cheryl (Brian) Renslow, Chris Wolken, Patty (Troy) Brooks, Missy (Lach) McPherson, Nicki Kretchmer, Cassie (Justin) Zirbel, Bob Kiehm, Brett Kiehm, Jackie Kiehm, Luke Kretchmer, and Joshua Kretchmer; seven great-grandchildren, Taylor, Brenna, Sienna, Jackson, Mason, Ryland, and Emerson; siblings, Margaret Dickhoff, of Minnesota Lake, and Audrey (Stan) Healy, of Mapleton; along with many nieces and nephews and their families.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alvin; brothers, George, James, Charles, and Brian in infancy; sisters, Evelyn, Collette and Adeline; and grandson, Matthew.
