Blue Earth Margaret Elaine Hauge, age 95, of Blue Earth returned to her heavenly home April 18, 2016, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Care Center. Margaret was born Jan. 5, 1921, at Frost, the daughter of Martin and Lillian (Paulson) Skogen. She went to school in Frost and on July 12, 1939, at her parents’ home she married Henry Hauge. They farmed near Elmore for many years and moved to Blue Earth in 1951. Together they raised five children, JoAnn (Jerry) Hyland, from Blue Earth, Merdis (Dean) Sunken, from Indiana, Karna Hougland, from Minneapolis, Lonnie Hauge and Dale Hauge, from Montana.
Left to cherish her memories includes her children, 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren and her siblings Eleonor (Marvill) Selvig, Deloris (Leo) Zimmel, Ordell (Arlys) Skogen, Barbara Pawloski, Marvin (Sharon) Skogen and brother-in-law Ray Hilpipre.
As a hard working woman Margaret worked at several businesses in the Minneapolis area, with the longest being at MN Rubber Company. Margaret retired at the age of 71 and moved back to Blue Earth. At this time her faith played a large role as a member of Faith Lutheran Church. Margaret kept busy by quilting, crocheting rugs, fixing up houses, growing rose bushes and of course, reading her bible. Special times were spent with family; especially her grandchildren. Margaret shared her Norwegian heritage with lefsa and kringla.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and daughter Merdis Sunken and sister Lorraine Hilpipre.
