Winnebago Mass of Christian Burial for Helen F. Dressen, 86, Winnebago, was held on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Winnebago, Father Peter Klein officiated. Interment was held at the church cemetery. Helen died on Friday, April 22, 2016 at the United Hospital District-Blue Earth.

Helen Frances Martini was born on May 26, 1929 in Ellsworth, to Stephen and Dagmar (Anderson) Martini. She moved to a farm near Arco, as a young child. She attended country school in Arco, and high school in Tyler. She was united in marriage to Arthur Dressen on Feb. 22, 1947 in Tyler. They moved to New Ulm in 1948. In 1953 they moved to Winnebago where they started Art’s Standard Service. Helen was a wife, homemaker and mother to five children. She was a very active volunteer with numerous organizations. Helen was a great cook and was known for her chocolate chip cookies. She loved cards, travel, music, dancing, kids, dogs and giving out hugs.

Helen is survived by her five children, Linda (Robert) Schmid, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Kavin (Diann) Dressen, of Albert Lea, Charles (Kathy) Dressen, of Winnebago, Teresa Benschoter, of Greeley, Colorado, and James (Barb) Dressen, Eagle Lake; 10 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Elaine Dressen, of Arco, and nieces and nephews.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arthur and one brother, Fabian Martini.
