Joseph B. Larson, 82
Formerly of Blue Earth Joseph B. Larson, born Aug. 18, 1934, in Blue Earth, to Oscar and Pearl Larson, died Nov. 17, 2016 in Mira Loma, California. He was 82.
Joe grew up in Blue Earth. After graduating from Blue Earth High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Army where he received specialized training to become a combat construction specialist and rose to the rank of Sergeant serving with the 17th Medium Tank Battalion. After receiving four accommodations for exemplary service, and an honorable discharge, he continued to serve his country in the Army Reserve. Joe graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in electronic engineering from the Electronic Technical Institute in Inglewood, California, which led to a career in aerospace engineering. He worked for Northrop Aerospace, Rockwell International, and Boeing.
Outside of work, Joe was an accomplished marksmen, gun enthusiast, painter, photographer, avid reader, and movie buff. He also loved taking short gambling trips to Vegas and visiting with family.
He is preceded in death by his father, Oscar Larson; mother, Pearl Wooton; brothers, Milton Larson, Morris Larson, Jim Larson, and Jerry Larson.
He is survived by his sisters, Minnie Dobbins and Suzie Wolf; and brothers, Bill Larson and Thomas Larson.
His kindness, generosity, and quick wit, will be missed by all that knew him. Per his request, his ashes will be spread in his home town of Blue Earth. Until we meet again, rest in peace, dearest brother, uncle, friend, Joe Larson.
