Ronald D. Sorensen, 85
Osage, Iowa Ronald Duane Sorensen, of Osage, Iowa, died Friday, Nov. 25, at Mitchell County Regional Health Center. Inurnment will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery near Osage.
Ron was born Feb. 15, 1931, in Delavan, to Fred and Ester (Stiles) Sorensen. He graduated from Delavan High School in 1950, then served in the army in Germany from 1953 – 1955. For several years he worked for the State of Minnesota as a real estate appraiser and crop adjuster, and engaged in farming. Ron’s interests were many and included hobby bee-keeping, prospecting in Arizona, and collecting firearms and books. He spent his last years in Iowa, continuing with some of his interests but also care-taking for his special friend, Marlys Rogers, and her family. He will be greatly missed. He was a member of the Osage VFW Post 7920 and the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, sister Beth Miller and her husband Harold, and brothers Bob and Keith.
He is survived by seven nephews and nieces and two sisters-in-law, Florence Sorensen of Madelia and Naomi Paul of Easton. At Ron’s request, there will be no funeral.
