Charlotte A. Dahl, 84
Harmony Charlotte Ann Helgeson Dahl, age 84, died peacefully Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2017, under Hospice Care and surrounded by family, at the Gunderson Harmony Care Center. Charlotte was born in Blue Earth, to Charles and Grace Helgeson of Bricelyn.
Charlotte graduated from high school in Bricelyn, and then went to Mankato State University where she graduated with an Elementary Education degree. She taught at various schools before settling in Harmony as a fourth grade teacher. It was there where she met Elmo Dahl and they married and lived east of town on a farm for the next 52 years.
Charlotte and Elmo loved to travel, making it to 48 states and several countries. In later life she enjoyed spending her winters in Arizona. Charlotte also loved gardening, participating in Ladies Aid and Circle groups. She volunteered in the community and was a substitute teacher.
Charlotte was the oldest of three children. Her sisters Marcia and Donna Helgeson predeceased her. She was also predeceased by two of her children, Eric and Sara Woods. She is remembered by her loving husband, Elmo Dahl of Harmony; and three children, Ann Dahl (Welsh) husband Michael of Boynton Beach, Florida, Mary Dahl Grise (husband James Renner) of Haverhill, Massachusetts, and John Dahl and his wife Barb of Chanhassen; her nine grandchildren, Emily and Madeline Kemp, Christina and Alison Grise, Jacob and Joe Dahl, Margaret, Jeremy and Andrew Woods; and by two great-grandchildren.
Memorial services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 18 at the Greenfield Lutheran Church in Harmony. Burial followed the service. The family greeted friends and family at the back of the church from 10-11 a.m before the service and in the church basement hall following the burial.
