Darla F. Schaefer

Blue Earth Darla F. Schaefer, age 55, of Blue Earth, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018, at United Hospital District in Blue Earth.

A celebration of her life was held on Monday, Feb. 19, 2018, at Hope United Methodist Church in Blue Earth, Rev. Jan Redman and Rev. Russ Jacobsen officiated. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Blue Earth. Web tributes may be left at www.pattonfh.com

Darla was born July 2, 1962, at Blue Earth, the daughter of Marion and Sylvia (Sailor) Krosch. She grew up in rural Elmore, and graduated from Elmore High School in 1980. Darla married Jeffrey L. Schaefer on Jan. 21, 1983 and resided in the Blue Earth area where they had two sons and a daughter. She was very active in Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. She had a love for wildlife, camping, fishing, gardening and plants, and most importantly children. Darla loved a simple life full of laughter.

Darla is survived by her husband, Jeff Schaefer, of Blue Earth; son, Brandon (Amanda) Schaefer, of Blue Earth; daughter, Jessica (Ben) Eckmann, of Blue Earth; son, Justin Schaefer, of Blue Earth; brothers, Gwen (Bev) Krosch, of Elmore, Glen Krosch, of Blue Earth, Bruce (Julie) Krosch, of Blue Earth; sisters, LaVonnie Swearingen, of Kiester, Janet (Donald) Richter, of Onamia, Joanne Fiser, of Minneapolis, Kathi (Bob Gaffney) Krosch, of Crystal, Loree (Dean) Vereide, of Blue Earth; grandchildren, Kylee, Brody, Kenzi Eckmann, of Blue Earth; mother and father-in?law, Louis and Marilyn Schaefer, of Blue Earth; brothers?in?law, David (Paula) Schaefer, of Blue Earth and Daniel Schaefer, of Mapleton; sister?in?law, Sheila (Mark) Wickersham, of Blue Earth, many nieces and nephews.

Darla was preceded in death by her parents, and seven brothers, Marvin, Paul, Phillip, Bryce, Brad, Merle, and Berle Krosch.
