Joseph Aloysius was born May 25, 1934 in Mankato, the son of Peter and Lucy (Goettl) Trio. He grew up on a farm in rural Mapleton with his twin sister and three brothers. With all the responsibilities of farm life, he left school in the eighth grade to work full time on the farm. He met and was united in marriage to Joanne Wittrock on Aug. 16, 1956, and to this union seven amazing children were born, who he taught to help with all aspects of farm life. After the passing of his wife Joanne, he met and was united in marriage to Darlene Warmka on March 5, 1981 in Easton, adding three more amazing children to the family. He remained a farmer in his heart his whole life, and had a very creative mind when it came to finding solutions to the changing environment of farming. His children enjoyed his gentle, kind nature, and his larger than life presence. He had a wit and a sense of humor that was appreciated by all. Joe was a master woodworker, and created many beautiful things for his family and friends throughout the years. He loved fishing and spending time with his many grandchildren.
