Darlene Ione Legred was born on March 30, 1939 at home in Mower County, to Howard and Merle (Anderson) Boysen. She married Thilmer “Tim” Legred on March 11, 1961 in Hayfield. Together they raised two children, and enjoyed what life provided for them. They farmed in the Brush Creek area for many years. She enjoyed cheering on her grandsons in their many sports and ball games, wearing the team colors and being their biggest fan! She also enjoyed square dancing, craft shows and shopping with her granddaughters, anything with family. Darlene was an angel and was an advocate for those she loved. Always encouraging them to do their best and “ready or not, Just do it.” She was an active lifetime member of North Blue Earth Lutheran Church. Darlene was a caring and compassionate person and often went out of her way to make sure others knew how special they are and showed her affection openly. Having been married to Tim just shy of 50 years, she took her vows to heart, caring for Tim until the last day, just as she had on the first. A true legacy that will continue to live on in her family and friends.

Darlene is survived by her son, Brent (Julie) Legred, of Bricelyn; daughter, Brenda Jo Legred, of Gig Harbor, Washington; grandchildren, Justin Olerud, Kelby Godlove, Haley Jo Godlove, Hannah Godlove, Kaylan Legred, Karson Legred and Kamron Legred; brothers, Harold (Betty) Boysen and Bob (Mary) Boysen; sisters, Evelyn (Arnie) Hertle and Marlene Shafer; brothers-in-law, Arlen Legred, Severt Legred and Roger (Viva) Legred; sisters-in-law Evelyn (Stan) Tolzmann and Marlene Linsey; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Darlene is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tim Legred; grandson, Kamden Legred; siblings, Kenny, Gene and Dorothy Boysen; brother-in-law, Cy Shafer; sisters-in-law, Mona Legred and Joan Legred.
