Verna M. Stindtman, 79
Blue Earth – Verna Marie Stindtman, age 79, died Saturday, May 5, 2018, with her family by her side at United Hospital District of Blue Earth.
Funeral Services were on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Rev. Jeanette Bidne presided. Interment followed the service at Riverside Cemetery of Blue Earth.
Verna was born June 14, 1938 in Ethan, South Dakota, the daughter of August and Alice (Dickson) Baumgart. She attended school in South Dakota. On Oct. 19, 1955 she married the love of her life, Richard Arnold Stindtman. They were married by the Justice of the Peace.
Throughout her life, she resided in several different locations including Salem, South Dakota from 1955 – 1957, Holland from 1957 – 1960, Amboy from 1960 – 1969, before settling down in Blue Earth.
Verna was the best cook/baker ever. For many a Saturdays she would have her famous Sloppy Joes ready for her family to enjoy at lunch. She was a classy dresser with a great fashion sense. Verna also loved her flowers and had them all throughout her yard. She enjoyed spending quality time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Verna is survived by her sons, Todd (Shar) Stindtman, of Blue Earth and Troy (Michele) Stindtman, of Blue Earth; daughter, Tammy (Darryl) Swenson, of Albert Lea; brothers, Melvin (Bud), Denny, DeWayne (Wink), and Dale Baumgart; sisters, Irene Hohn and Karen Berg, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Verna is preceded in death by her husband, Richard; son, Richard Stindtman; parents; brother, Leonard Baumgart; sisters, Dee Smith, Rosella Nielson, Ruthie Spitzer, Betty Kurtenbach, and Sharon Kendall.
