Marian L. Hagel, 90

Faribault Marian L. Hagel, age 90 of Faribault, died on Monday, Aug. 6, 2018 at Pleasant View Estates, Faribault.

Funeral services were at Trinity Lutheran Church, Faribault on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2018 at 10 a.m., Reverend Paul Rieger officiated. Interment was at Meadow Ridge Memorial Park, Faribault. Arrangements were completed by the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault.

Marian Louise, the daughter of Emil and Emma (Humburg) Hannaman was born on May 5, 1928 in Blue Earth. She attended college at River Forest, and Mankato State University. She graduated and became a teacher as well as a cake decorator and homemaker. She was joined in marriage with Luverne Hagel in Blue Earth on Sept. 18, 1949. They shared 58 years together. Marian was a very active member in her church and community. In 1989 she cofounded the Trinity Piemakers, which is still active today.

She is survived by her children, Deborah (John) Smits, of Faribault, Rebecca (Robert) Glende, of Faribault, Phillip (Angela) Hagel, of Andover, and Mary (William) Jewison, of Faribault; her grandchildren, Tim Glende, Vanessa Smits, Chelsea (Kelsey) Noss, Nick Jewison (Megan Demars), Marissa Jewison (Cole Yunkers); her great grandchildren, Mariah, Chloe and Blaire; one brother, Frederick Hannaman; and one sister, Caroline Heidorn.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Emma Hannaman; spouse, Luverne “Dick” Hagel; her brothers, Paul, James, and Richard Hannaman; and her sister, Anna Vanderpool; a niece, nephews, and many other friends and family.
