Pat McCabe

Patricia Ann McCabe died Thursday Sept. 6, 2018 as a result of a rare peritoneal mesothelioma, diagnosed in 2016. A celebration of her life will be held with visitation at Patton Funeral Home, Friday, Sept. 21, 2018 from 5-7 p.m. and one hour prior to the memorial service at Trinity Lutheran Church Saturday, Sept. 22 at 11 a.m.

Pat was born Feb. 24, 1950 to John and Iomie (Schleeve) McCabe. Her parents were very proud, she became the first in the immediate family to graduate from Mankato State College in 1972. She had a career in social services and medical case management.

In her 40’s she married the love of her life, David Amundson. They were blessed with their son, Josh in 1992. Great things come to those who wait was Pat’s thought.

Pat was blessed with nine college roommates and many other close friends and family who continue to share life trials and triumphs. Since her diagnosis, it really took a village of caring individuals. Special thanks to Dr. Karp and the staff at United Hospital District in Blue Earth and Dr. David Bartlet of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

Pat’s joys in life were loving and caring for family and friends, fishing, cooking and reading.

She is survived by her husband, David and son, Josh Amundson; sister, Colleen (Richard) Schloesser; brothers, Dennis (Jeanie), Daniel (Cindy) and Jerry (Sue) and many treasured nieces and nephews and her dog Reba the Diva.

She is preceded in death by her parents.
