Naomi Lucille was born Jan. 29, 1923, the daughter of William and Isabelle (Willette) Murphy. Naomi was united in marriage to George Paul on March 1, 1949 at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Blue Earth. Naomi loved dancing with George whether it was a polka, waltz, or square dance. She enjoyed sewing and also making quilts with George. Naomi rarely missed any of her kids school functions. She was very involved in OLMC Church, School, MCCW, and Easton Legion Auxiliary and always made sure the men in the field had meals. Naomi fulfilled one of her dreams in her 60’s, she went to school and got her cosmetology license. She enjoyed her beauty shop at the house and took care of family and friends and George’s “two” hairs. She worked for Espeland Van Service in her 70’s. She took great joy in the fact that she raised 11 children and they gave her 20 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. She was also very proud that her children all owned their own homes and had jobs. She was known the last few years as “the lady with the beautiful scarves.” She always liked to look her best and scarves were her thing. She will be remembered lovingly by her family for her banana bread, crockpot cooking and her storytelling. Naomi and George loved each other greatly and they are finally dancing together again.

Naomi is survived by her children, sons, Keith (Vicki) Paul, of Jacksonville, Florida; Bill (Jean) Paul, of Blue Earth; Gregg (DeeAnn) Paul, of Austin, Texas; Larry (Marsha) Paul, of Easton; Chuck (Betty) Paul, of Chandler, Arizona; Dan (Elisa) Paul, of Salina, California; daughters, Joyce (Don) Krueger, of Rochester; Pat Linehan, of Bloomington; Karen (Rick) Haase, of Easton; Beth (Bert) Fleming, of Garden City; Nancy (Scott) McCune, of Buffalo; 20 grandchildren and 22 great-grandkids; siblings, Bill Murphy, of Tennessee, Stanley Murphy, of Maine, and Mary Ann Murphy, of Blue Earth; sister-in-law, Carlyn Murphy; along with many nieces, nephews and their families.
