Nancy E. Lent, 88
Delavan Nancy Ellen Lent, age 88, of Delavan passed away at the home she adored, Monday, Jan. 28, 2019. A funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019 at Faith Lutheran Church in Delavan, Pastor Todd Substad officiated. Visitation one hour prior to the service. Nancy Ellen Lent was born May 9, 1930, the daughter of Sidney and Ellen (Jensen) Luce, in Mankato. She graduated from Delavan High School in 1948 and then attended Business School in Mankato for two years.
After marrying Francis John Lent on Jan. 14, 1951, they lived near Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas while Frank was stationed there during his service years and where their first child was born. After Frank’s service time ended, they settled on a piece of land northeast of Delavan. There they raised three children while farming and raising a large herd of Purebred Arabian horses as well as Purebred collie dogs.
Nancy loved the land and the animals this love was her legacy and will always be cherished.
She is survived by her children, Mark (Sandy) Lent, of Anoka, Kevin (Barbara) Lent, of Glenwood, and Jacqueline (Tony Bok) Lent, of Minnesota Lake. She is also survived by six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Mavis Solberg, and other relatives and friends.
