Beverly Teskey

Blue Earth Beverly Jean Teskey, of Blue Earth passed away on Sunday, Nov. 10, 2019, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester.

Funeral services were held on Friday, Nov. 15, 2019, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Blue Earth. Burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery.

Beverly Jean was born on April 29, 1931 in Blue Earth to Harold and Dorothy (Terwilliger) Benshoof. She was baptized on June 12, 1932 at Bass Lake Community Church. She attended and graduated from Blue Earth High School in 1949 and clerked at the National Five and Dime Store. She was united in marriage to Robert E. Teskey on Oct. 29, 1950, at the First Presbyterian Church in Blue Earth. She also worked at the Blue Earth Greenhouse, Woodwards Dept. Store, Blue Earth Landscape, and baked pies for three years for a small caf. For 22 years she worked as a library aide at the Blue Earth Community Library. Starting in 1996, she compiled the Register Reflections Article in the Faribault County Register.

Beverly joined St. Paul’s Lutheran Church after marriage and served her church by leading a women’s Bible study for several years, helping to set up and organize a church library, repairing hymnals, and becoming chairman and later co-chairman of the prayer chain.

Beverly especially enjoyed reading, writing letters to an English pen pal for more than 75 years, and loving the many cats she had during her life.

Beverly loved her family and they will miss her dearly. She is survived by sons, Jeff (Ila) Teskey, of Rochester and Joel (April) Teskey, of Fairmont; granddaughters, Sara (Garrett) Johnson, of Rochester, Anna (Ryan) Bechel, of Red Wing, Candice (Mike) Sassman, of Fairmont and Aurora (Colin Meadows) Teskey, of Fairmont; one great-granddaughter, Gracie Bechel, and two more great-grandchildren on the way.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Robert.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the St. Paul Lutheran Church or to UHD Home Health Hospice.
