Roger Anderson

San Jose, California/ Winnebago Roger Todd Anderson, age 73, born in Winnebago on April 14, 1947, passed away July 12, 2020 of renal failure at his home in San Jose, California after a long illness. Roger had fond memories of growing up in Winnebago and often returned to see family, friends and classmates. Following high school, Roger served his country proudly in the army, stationed in Germany and two tours in wartime Viet Nam, where he was awarded multiple medals including two bronze stars (one with “V”). Later he earned a B.A. at the University of Minnesota and became a forester for the state of Oregon. Health issues brought Roger to California in 1977 for a kidney transplant. It was in San Jose where he met and married Jane Patton. Roger was a real estate broker for 20 years in the Bay Area. In their 43 years together, Roger and Jane enjoyed growing gardens, gourmet cooking, eclectic music, traveling, DIY projects and laughing whenever possible. Despite lifelong health limitations, Roger maintained a positive, sunny disposition and a friendly manner. He served his country with valor; supported his family at every opportunity; loved his wife unconditionally; lived by his values; and enriched the lives of everyone he knew.

Roger is survived by his wife, Jane, and siblings: Lowell, Merodie, Vincent, Darwin, Joel, Rollie, and Royce and preceded in death by brother, Bernie.
