Dale Hromadko

Winnebago Dale Fredrick Hromadko, age 82, of Winnebago, passed away at his home surrounded by family on Monday, Sept. 14, 2020.

Memorial services with military honors will be held on a later date.

Dale was born on March 9, 1938 in Minneapolis to Francis and Alice (Hanus) Hromadko. He attended Minneapolis Central High School and went on to study electronics at the Brown Institute in Minneapolis. He worked as a service tech for Xerox of 29 years and worked for Bertelson Brothers for 15 years. He was also a member of the United States Army.

Dale married Kathryn Nater in Siren, Wisconsin on March 9, 1968. The couple lived in Minneapolis before retiring to the Blue Earth area.

Dale had a love for trains and trolleys. He was a member of the Minnesota Transportation Museum and drove street cars and held an officer title for one year. Dale also enjoyed bowling. He bowled in the Twin Cities and more recently at Lucky Lanes in Winnebago. He also enjoyed camping, cooking, baking, crossword puzzles, and sipping coffee. Dale was a hardworking man, healthy throughout his life, maybe sometimes a bit stubborn, and an excellent conversationalist. He loved his family and friends dearly. His cat, Sadie, also held a special place in his heart.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy of Winnebago; daughters, Christine Ackerman, of Hector, and Pamela Hromadko, of Rochester; seven grandchildren; and brother, Robert (Marilyn) Hromadko and family, of Eden Prairie.

Dale is preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Donna Jean Pettit.
