Richard J. Schleininger, 83
Fairmont Services for Richard J. Schleininger, age 83, of Fairmont, was on Monday, Oct. 12, 2020, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Blue Earth. Interment was in Lakeside Cemetery in Fairmont with military honors provided by the Lee C. Prentice American Post 36 and Martin County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1222.
Richard passed away on Wednesday morning, Oct. 7, 2020, at Heartland Senior Living. The Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont assisted the family with arrangements.
Richard John Schleininger was born on July 28, 1937, in Fairmont Township. He was the son of Ira Glen and Esther (Fowler) Schleininger. He attended country school until the ninth grade and later graduated from Fairmont High School in 1956.
After high school, Richard started working for 3M and worked there for forty one years as well as farming the family farm until 1999.
On Aug. 18, 1962, Richard was united in marriage to Betty Loonsberry.
In 2006, Richard found love again when he met Beverly (Waterbury) Rosenberg. The couple were married on May 15, 2010. With that marriage he acquired three children.
Left to cherish his memory include his wife, Beverly Schleininger, of Fairmont, step-children, Lori (Gary) Anderson of Moose Lake, David Krueger of Jordan, and Kimberly Hunt of Bells, Tennessee; grandchildren, Jamie (Nicholas) Homer of North Mankato, Amber (Chris) Leek of Bells, Tennessee, Spencer (Shelby) Morris of Humbolt, Tennessee, Taylor Anderson of Grand Rapids, Tyler Anderson of Duluth, Jessica (Randy) Nelson of Cottage Grove, and Amanda (Geoff) Russell of Lonsdale; great-grandchildren, Owen and Finleigh Morris, Liam and Addison Leek, Alexandria Phillips, and Isabella and Deacon Russell; sisters, Mrs. Francis Fenske, Mrs Joyce Tow, and Susan Uhde; and other relatives and friends.
Along with his parents, Ira Glen and Esther Schleininger, Richard was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Schleininger; grandson, Travis Morris; brothers, William and Robert Schleininger; sisters, Helen Simon, and Mary Nelson; brothers-in-law, Harold Fenske, Willard Simon, Gerald Nelson, and Derrell Tow; nephew, Thomas Timm; and parents-in-law, Dale and Evelyn Waterbury.
