Eleanor was born May 29, 1925, in Frost, the daughter of Martin and Lillian (Paulson) Skogen. She attended school in Frost. One night, as she attended a church meeting, she met Marvill Selvig. Eleanor was a homemaker for most of her life, and was well-known for quilt-making, lefsa and other Norwegian delicacies, raising her eight children, and enjoying a good cup of coffee with friends and family. She was a charter member at Faith Lutheran Brethren Church, Blue Earth, where she was involved in the children’s ministries and Women’s Mission Fellowship.
