JoAnn Shaumburg

Shakopee/Elmore – JoAnn Marilyn Schaumburg passed away on Nov. 28, 2020 after a long battle with cancer at All Saints Assisted Living in Shakopee. She was born to Ira and Myrtle (Krosch) Naumann on Dec. 13 and attended Elmore High School where she was a cheerleader, played softball and was Homecoming queen. Her first job was at First National Bank in Elmore, where she worked for many years. JoAnn married her high school sweetheart, Marvin Schaumburg and they farmed together in the Elmore area until Marvin’s death. After his death, JoAnn moved to Hackensack, on Woman Lake where she was a self-proclaimed fishing guide for many, caught a few fish, cheered on the Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers and enjoyed her many golfing, darts and neighbor friends.

JoAnn is survived by her four children; Kathleen (Mark) Kaseforth, of Hays, Kansas, Cynthia (Karl) Reynolds, of Eatonton, Georgia, Gregory (Lori) Schaumburg, of Prior Lake, and Timothy (Caroline) Schaumburg of Sacramento, California; nine grandchildren; Jason, Jessica, Brett, Keith, Sara, Dylan, Chris, Jennifer and Amanda, 12 great-grandchildren; and her sister-in-laws, Henrietta Wentworth, Bonnie Naumann and Connie Naumann. She was preceded in death by her spouse Marvin; parents; siblings, Edwin Naumann, Derald Naumann and Donald Naumann and special friend, Royce Jordahl.

Funeral services were held at Patton Funeral Home in Blue Earth on Wednesday, Dec. 2. Interment followed at River-view Cemetery in Elmore. Memorials are suggested to the Elmore United Methodist Church.
